She’s the heart and soul of Marguerite Gardens. Truly the genius behind some of Chicago’s finest gardens. The shop is, in many ways, the outpouring of a lifetime of dreams come true.
Wearer of many hats, she is the indispensable go-to person who smoothly manages all the challenges that come with the business of operating a seasonal garden design firm and a retail flower shop. She’s the one who makes sure the magic happens.
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, he’s a mixed-media artist in his own right. But at the flower shop he loves creating beauty: “ You’re creating a self-portrait for each and every person".
When she’s not in the shop, Leah is one of the acclaimed gardeners of the Marguerite Gardens design, build and maintain crew. She too is an artist who works in mixed media.
A fashion designer in the making, she is enthralled with building beauty out of floral buds and blossoms. Sculpture is the art form that most appeals to Martha, and in bouquet making, she explores its sculptural essence.
The beautiful music you find here on a Saturday afternoon might well be coming from the strings of Ammie, a long time violist with the Chicago Civic Orchestra who is equally creative in floral designs at Marguerite Gardens.
